Kevin Ruddock earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from The University of Rhode Island where he has worked as a research assistant for the Environmental Data Center. He has worked for 16 years for the Rhode Island Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, where he has used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to help guide the conservation of land and water throughout Rhode Island and beyond. Most recently Kevin has been involved with a number of marine and coastal conservation planning projects including an ecological assessment of the Northwest Atlantic and Long Island Sound. Kevin has focused on climate change adaptation strategies that include the application of an ‘ecological land unit’ approach to conservation prioritization as well as modeling the effects that sea level rise is likely to have on tidal marsh in a number of coastal estuaries using SLAMM and GIS software.
